Egyptian laws strictly regulate tourism 🏛️. To get permission for transport (bus or yacht) to operate, organizers must obtain daily approval from the police and military. A tourism license is mandatory. That’s why for some excursions we may need copies of your passports or vouchers. This mainly applies to Hurghada boat trips, as well as individual or some group tours outside the city. For other excursions, a group permit is enough, and passport details are not required.
Your insurance is valid ✅ Some hotel guides may say that insurance doesn’t cover excursions booked through other companies — that’s not true. Your travel insurance for Egypt covers you across the whole country, no matter who organizes your trip. Plus, any official tour operator is fully responsible for passenger safety during the excursion, whether by bus or boat. Otherwise, they wouldn’t get the necessary permits. 🛡️
We often remind tourists to not forget anything after excursions. 😅 Unfortunately, if you leave something behind, retrieving it can be difficult because all transport immediately goes for cleaning, and Egyptian logistics have their quirks. Of course, we always try to help search, but we cannot guarantee 100% success. If the item is found, delivery will cost around $5–10. Please be careful and don’t forget your belongings! 👜
